Images of people listening to headphones are popular (so are T-shirts with headphones).
We likely project our own musical tastes onto these people. ie, nobody thinks, “Oh, she’s listening to total crap.” or “Typical Nickelback fan.”
But when this picture was taken, this girl was listening to Nickelback. She’s been a ‘backer since ‘96 when Curb came out. She’s seen them live nine times and has met the whole band. I wish I could make this shit up.

projection, in general, is a very interesting thing. it’s certainly true with this picture, while initially attracted, I was quickly repulsed by the association of music i find horrible (for perhaps shallow reasons…) anyway… i think it’s linked with the ambiguity leads to liking study i linked earlier and so many other things… i often used to assume everyone knew or would eventually agree with everything i had to say…
