so, that happened

while i was home for the holidays, i forgot (or, really, knowingly neglected) to provide for my electrical bill. so… my bold experiment confirmed that the italian energy company - enel - will apparently shut off your service, much like their american regional counterparts, if you fail to pay them. i was actually slightly surprised when i came home on thursday and my lights were still working. but then, last night, my lights went out with very little warning - well, save for the metered-mail electricity bill, which i then lost while reading a book on the bus this morning. so… just in case you were curious - italian electrical service is not unconditional. duly noted.
